8 Years Today Ago this Summer Anthem Was Number One

As we head into the last official weekend of summer we are lucky to be getting ready for an awesome weather weekend. Not to hot with plenty of sun. A taste of fall but still warm enough to dress for summer. The perfect weekend to be barefoot in blue jeans. So now is probably a great time for me to take you back to this day in 2011.

It was 8 years ago today according to "This Day in Country Music" that Jake Owen scored his first number one hit. Jake released his third album Barefoot Blue Jean Night and the first single from the album the titles track became Jake's first #1 county hit. The album also went to number one for Jake.

All this happened when Jake still had his floppy locks which he has since cut off. Also in this short 8 years He has gotten divorced from his wife of 3 years, model Lacey Buchanan who is the mother of his first daughter Olive Pearl. And this past April Jake and his new lady Erica Hartlein welcomed their daughter Paris Hartley Owen. Lots of things have changed for Jake but one thing hasn't, he still makes great country music.
