It is always fun to look back at the "This Day in History" sites. One of my favorites to visit is This Day in Country Music. I decide to check out some of the things that happened on this day in Country Music History this afternoon and one of them I remember vividly. It is truly one of those I remember exactly where I was moments.

February 13th 2002, I had been out shopping for my self purchased Valentine's Day gift, Wagner cast iron pans (insert laugh track here), and when I walked in the door my significant other at the time was sitting in the living room glued to the TV with a video of Waylon Jennings playing. Turns out while I was at Walmart the world found out that Waylon had passed away in his sleep from complications due to a long battle with diabetes. Funny how you can't remember a lot of stuff been then something are so clear.

Waylon had a lot of country music history to his name including a series of duet albums with Willie Nelson in the late 1970s. He was the reason we have the "Theme From The Dukes Of Hazzard", and he was a member of The Highwaymen with Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, and Kris Kristofferson.
