Having a wet/dry vacuum is a big plus for a lot of people. They are usually more powerful than a regular vacuum, so you can clean up a wider range of messes, plus you can clean up anytime water or any other liquid causes a mess in your house. In fact, when we got ours, I went a little crazy cleaning out my car, the basement, the back porch, but I digress.

If you purchased a RIDGID wet/dry vac from any Home Depot store or online at homedepot.com between March 2018 through July 2018, they are being recalled due to a shock hazard. The RIDGID NXT HD06000(6 gallons) and HD09000(9 gallons) have an on/off switch that can become dislodged, exposing energized wiring that could pose a shock hazard to the user.

According to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission, the Emerson Tool Company, which manufactures RIDGID wet/dry vacuums is asking consumers to stop using these immediately an contact them for a free replacement powerhead assembly.

These vacuums are orange and black in color with four swivel casters along with a handle, hose, and accessories. You can find the model number on the silver product label on the back of the powerhead assembly of the vacuum.

For more information, call the Emerson Tool Company at 888-847-8718 or emerson.com. As of this writing, there have been no reported injuries and it would be good to keep it that way.
