Is there anything better on a cold, winter's night than to be able to crawl into a nice, warm bed? One way to make sure you stay toasty warm and possibly enable you to turn your thermostat down is to use an electric blanket. They're easy to use and some people swear they can't sleep without one. Before you crawl into bed tonight, you might want to check the manufacturer of that blanket, because a recall has been announced that involves some electric blankets.

According to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, Rural King is recalling specific electric blankets and throws due to a fire and burn hazard. It has been discovered that their cords can overheat and catch fire. These were sold in either cream or brown and in two sizes 50 x 60 inches (smaller than a twin bed) and 84x90 (queen size). The blankets affected have a model number that begins with BLV-OB with a variety of ending numbers. You can find this information on a corner tag.
