Chris Ring is almost there. He is about to be the first American to swim the entire length of the Mississippi River. Chris is expected to be at mile zero in 4 days. Chris has been averaging about 6 hours of swimming a day, six days a week. Chris would swim longer if he was behind schedule. He has swam 15 to 20 miles per day since June and later this week he will have put his name in the record books all for a good cause.

Chris a Navy Seal Veteran is swimming the Mississippi to bring awareness to an organization named Legacies Alive. Legacies Alive's purpose is to support and strengthen families who have lost a family member in active duty to our country.

Sometime on Thursday or Friday of this week Chris will swim into the Delta at the mouth of the Mississippi and his mission will be complete, He will be met there by many of the families who shared their story with him along his journey. Then on December 12th, Chris will be honored at the Army Navy game in Philadelphia. Keep up with Chris's progress by following him on Face book.
