Imagine swimming the entire length of the mighty Mississippi River. Two thousand five hundred and fifty two miles of not-so-clean water, filled with boats big and small and creates friendly and not. Navy combat veteran Chris Ring is doing just that in honor of his fallen comrades.

Chris set out on his tribute on the anniversary of D-day, June 6, from the source of the Mississippi River, Lake Itasca in Itasca, Minnesota. Chris plans to reach the mouth of the Mississippi and the Gulf of Mexico by early December. If successful he will be able to attend the Army Navy game on December 12th in Philadelphia, PA where he will be honored for his achievement. He will have brought attention to our fallen soldiers and he will also be the first American to swim the length of the Mississippi River.
