Celebrating Dog Mom Day on Pause
They are so patient with us especially over the last few weeks. Home is their space day in day out. The family dog is truly a member of the family. The family dog can often be consider one of the kids or even your only kid. That is the case for me, I am a dog Mom, no kids. Over the years there have been many dog kids in my life but the latest, Minnie Pearl is the one who maybe the most like me.
So with everything lock down it will be hard to celebrate National Dog Mom Day this Saturday. According to the National Days Calendar this newly establish National day is celebrated on the Second Saturday in May. If you aren't familiar with this day is the National Days Calendar says it was established to recognize the bond between a woman and her dog in 2018 by DIG - The Dog Person's Dating App.
So what can you do on National Dog Mom Day while on Pause? I am going to suggest start the morning with a walk around the neighborhood followed by breakfast that includes eggs for both of you. Pearl and I will most likely head to New Paltz Bagel. Then take a car ride on your favorite Hudson Valley back road. Pearl and I do the mountain road over to Stone Ridge and back. You want to pick one that will let you roll down your window and one for the dog. Before heading home I would plan to grab lunch from your favorite drive thru, dogs love a good drive through. And finally wrap the day with an afternoon nap on the couch.
