Was This Week the Nicest Forecast Week of The Year?

According to Meteorologist Ben Noll, yes!

Sort of. There's actually still time for the "nicest forecast of the year" to get flipped on it's head. More on that coming up.

On October 4th, 2026 the Hudson Valley's most popular meteorologist Ben Noll wrote on social media:

If it doesn’t rain in the Hudson Valley on Sunday afternoon and the entire week ends up being dry, then the region will reach a 13-day dry streak — the longest in over a year, since September 2025.

He added "That’s why I’m calling it the nicest forecast of the year, a description that I don’t use lightly!"

With that being said, it looks like the wet stuff is making it's way to the region and making quite the splash.

Tropical Storm Isaias Heading Towards the Hudson Valley

A few short days after Noll uttered the words "nicest forecast of the year" things took a turn.

Noll posted an unfortunate update:

I am monitoring the potential for heavy rain from Tropical Storm Isaias to reach the Hudson Valley on Sunday. More to come.

Tropical Storm Isaias is predicted to hit the region by Sunday.

Here's the latest update from Ben:

For the Gulf Coast and down south Isaias will be much stronger.

The National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration reports "Isaias is expected to strengthen and be a strong hurricane when it approaches the northern Gulf Coast on Friday."

We'll make sure to keep you updated with any weather related updates over the next few days.

Flood Safety Tips For New Yorkers

We've seen parts of the Hudson Valley region get slammed over the last few years after heavy rains.

Now that Tropical Storm Isaias is on the way, it's better to be prepared just in case floods appear across your neighborhoods.
