Happy April 1st.  Also known as April Fools Day.  I'm all about pranks and practical jokes but when is it taking it to far?

My best friend in growing up had a birthday on April 1st and one year I called him and told him that my dad left something by the mailbox.  We lived in the country and he walked about a mile between houses because he thought that my dad might have went to the wrong house and then realized it was an April Fools Joke.  That's an ok joke.

My wife saw that Bruce Springsteen was playing a private rehearsal show and tickets where only $25 but it was only by invitation and she asked to be invited.  The reply was "April Fools".

Both of these are save pranks and don't go to far.  What IS going to far is when someone can end up being harmed in any way.  For instance, "Brad Pitt is having dinner at Mill House Brewing Company.....people rush there, could end up getting a ticket or in an accident trying to get there.  Not such a good idea.

I mean, I'm not one to really consider that bad but in this day and age, it can be

One April Fools Joke that is always going around on social media is the 'I'm pregnant' joke.  That's not funny.  Especially for people that may be trying or have been told that their dream of ever birthing a child has been shattered because they won't ever be able to.

I guess what I'm saying is, it's April Fools Day, have fun with it but consider what you are doing first.  Be original.  "I'm pregnant" isn't original.

Go enjoy the day, the week and remember, once today is over, it's no longer Monday for a week.  No joke.
