Sure a dollar can't get you much now a days, but some coin and currency collectors are willing to pay big money for a special dollar bill. Apparently, there are a bunch of dollar bills with a printing error that are making them quite collectable.
According to the website Wealthy Nickle, collectors are in search of "rare $1 bills with a particular printing error" on them from the US Bureau of Engraving and Printing.
There are about 6.4 million $1 bills with different serial numbers. The website explains that 9 pairs have been found. This printing error has collectors offering up to $150,000 if these dollar bills are found.
So where are the other bills and how can you identify them?

The report states that "Two batches of $1 bills were printed, one in 2014 and another in 2016, that feature this particular error, and the bills went into circulation before the mistake was found."
How can you find if the $1 in your wallet are a match? Wealthy Nickle explains these are the serial numbers and where to find them:
- The Series date located near the photograph of George Washington must read “Series 2013”
- The bill must have a “B” Federal Reserve Seal above the serial number
- The serial number must end with a star (*) and fall between B00000001* – B00250000* or B03200001*-B09600000*
Wealthy Nickle goes on to add that if you think you have a matching $1 bill to visit Project 2013B where you can submit the serial number.
