Teenager Steals Purse From Senior Citizen in Kingston, New York
A teenager broke into a senior housing complex in Kingston and threatened the occupants before robbing one of them.
The Ulster Police Department has announced that they have arrested a teenager after he allegedly entered a home at a senior housing complex in Kingston on Thursday and robbed one of the occupants.
Barged in and Stole a Purse
Police say at 10:14 a.m. on Thursday morning March 9th officers were dispatched to a call that reported a robbery at the Chambers Senior Housing Complex located on Chambers Drive in the Town of Ulster. When police arrived it was determined that a male suspect had entered a residence and grabbed a resident's purse and ran away.
Ulster Police said that as a result of their investigation, with help from The Ulster County's Sheriff's Office and the New York State Police, it was determined that one male suspect allegedly entered an occupied residence at the complex and threatened the occupants before removing a purse that reportedly belonged to one of the residents. The victim then told police that the man fled the area on foot.

Police quickly identified the suspect as 19-year-old Niaki T. Dial. of Espous, NY, and began to search the area to try and locate him. A short time later at approximately 10:36 a.m. a detective from the town of Ulster Police Department located Dial and placed him under arrest.
Once in custody, Dial was charged with five felonies including, Robbery in the First Degree, Burglary in the First Degree, Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree. Dial was also charged with Menacing in the Third Degree, a misdemeanor. Dial was being held as he awaited arraignment at the Town of Ulster Town Court.
