
$22 Million Kingston, New York Construction Project Completed
For the last few years Dietz Stadium, a landmark in Kingston, has been undergoing a huge construction project.
The time has come for opening day and The City of Kingston will be celebrating with an open house for the community.
What Upgrades Will You See At Dietz Stadium in Kingston, New York?
The $22 million project has improved many parts of the iconic Dietz Stadium ranging from exteriors renovations, interior renovations and new lighting around the stadium.
According to a post from The City of Kingston on Facebook exterior renovations include:
- Renovations to the grandstand
- Improved ADA access
- 50-Yard line access tunnel to the locker rooms
- New benches
- Upgrades in the Press Box
Interior renovations include:
- Upgraded restrooms
- New locker rooms
- New mechanical/electrical services
- Coaches Offices and training room
- Improved storage facilities.
Along with those upgrades there is a much needed track surfacing, new turf field, as well as a new scoreboard "with large screen broadcasting" and LED stadium lighting.
Things you may not see, new underground utilities like water and sewer updates.

Celebrate The Opening of the New and Improved Dietz Stadium
Now that the Dietz Stadium project is complete, it's time to celebrate!
The City of Kingston along with Mayor Steve Noble and partners will be hosting a Open House Event on Saturday, May 3rd from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. At 1:30 pm there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Guests will have the opportunity to peek inside the grandstand interiors, new locker rooms and other amenities. Plus, Hole in The Wall Donuts' will be on hand too.
Kingston Stockade Soccer Club Returns to Their Home Field at Dietz Stadium
After the open house festivities, Kingston Stockade soccer team will kick off their season after 2 long years. When construction began, the soccer club played their home games at Marist University in Poughkeepsie.
