Missing Child Found Safe After Days-Long Search in Ulster County

A 10-year-old boy who was reported missing after leaving his home Wednesday night has been located and is safe in Kingston, NY.

Concern was growing in the Kingston area earlier this week after the Kingston Police Department asked for the public's help locating 10-year-old Edwin Augustine-Santos, who was reported missing from his home on Downs Street in the City of Kingston, NY.

According to police, Edwin was last seen at around 8 p.m. on September 2. He was described as approximately 4 feet, 8 inches tall and about 80 pounds. Police said he was last seen wearing black sweatpants with an orange stripe down the side and a black sweatshirt.

Thankfully, the days-long search for Edwin has ended with good news.

Police Locate Missing Child in Kingston

The Kingston Police Department announced Thursday around 5:30 p.m. that Edwin had been located and was safe. Police did not provide additional details about where the child was found or what led officers to him, but the department said the search involved assistance from multiple local law enforcement agencies.

Members of the Town of Ulster Police Department and the Ulster County Sheriff's Office assisted Kingston Police in the effort to locate Edwin.
