Poughkeepsie Man Immediately Arrested After Biting Sheriff Deputy
A Poughkeepsie, New York man has been arrested after he allegedly bit and assaulted a Dutchess County Sheriff's Deputy at the scene of a car accident.
A late-night accident on Monday, July 29th in LaGrange, NY went from bad to worse as the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office is reporting that one of its deputies was bitten and assaulted by a man who was involved in a car crash.
Car Crash Involving a Young Child
According to the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, it all started at approximately midnight on Monday when deputies were called to respond to a reported crash in the area of Titusville Road near Red Oaks Mill Road in LaGrange. As they arrived on the scene deputies identified 27-year-old Jordon A. Robin of Poughkeepsie, NY as the operator of the vehicle, along with a young child passenger.
LaGrange, New York Car Accident Turns Violent
As first responders began to investigate the accident police say that Robin allegedly became combative and attempted to interfere with EMS efforts to assist the child. His interference ultimately resulted in a deputy being bitten and assaulted according to reports. After a struggle deputies were finally able to get Robin into custody, after which he continued behaving aggressively by allegedly damaging a patrol car while he was being transported.
Jordon A. Robin Arrested
Robin was charged with multiple felonies including 2nd-degree assault on a police officer, criminal mischief (for damage to patrol car), and aggravated driving while intoxicated (Leandra’s Law). He was also charged with three misdemeanors including resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration, and aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle. After being processed Robin was released on appearance tickets that are returnable to the Town of LaGrange Court at a later date.

As with any criminal case, the charges described above are merely accusations and Robin is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
