According to Dutchess County Executive Sue Serino, Courtien had simply stepped outside to do routine yard work and hasn't been seen since. She also said Ryan left behind both his cell phone and wallet, making the situation especially concerning.

Courtien is well known throughout the Dover community, having served as the town's former Town Supervisor and currently as the Planning Board Chairman.

Massive Search Effort Underway to Find Ryan Courtien

Serino said the New York State Police established a command center on West Dover Road and have been leading an extensive search involving the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office, New York State Forest Rangers, helicopters, drones, K-9 teams and other specialized search personnel.

Investigators have also updated Ryan's clothing description. Police now say he was last seen wearing a long-sleeve black shirt. Earlier information indicated he was wearing tan pants and a black shirt.

Community Asked to Stay Vigilant

Serino is urging residents to come together to help bring Ryan home.

"Our Dutchess County community is incredibly close-knit, and right now, we need to rally together," she said, asking neighbors to check any home security cameras or trail cameras for footage from Sunday morning, July 12.

If you live in or around the Dover area, now is a good time to review any video you may have from that morning. Even something that doesn't seem important could provide investigators with a critical lead.

Anyone with information about Ryan Courtien's whereabouts is urged to contact New York State Police Troop K Headquarters at 845-677-7300 immediately.

Ryan's disappearance has touched people throughout the Hudson Valley, with hundreds sharing his photo across social media in hopes of helping bring him home safely.
