An Ulster County woman is accused of beating and injuring a victim with a candle.

On Thursday around 1:15 a.m., Saugerties police responded to a home on Malden turnpike in the Town of Saugerties for a reported physical dispute in progress.

Following an investigation, 32-year-old Tosha M.Vaughan of Saugerties was charged with second-degree attempted assault. Vaughan is accused of repeatedly hitting the victim in the face with a glass candle, causing an injury.

Vaughan was arraigned in the Town of Saugerties Justice Court and released on her own recognizance. A court order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim.
