It bad enough if you get arrested but to then steal the police car is just crazy.

That's exactly what happened over the weekend in Schoharie County which is north of us.

According to WTEN, Tierra Scott, 27, of Middleburgh was in police custody on Sunday for what New York State police Captain Michael Tietz called a burglary or larceny investigation, when she stole a State Police car.

Captain Tietz told WTEN that the State Police were assisting the Schoharie Sheriff's Department with a prisoner transport. When the Trooper doing the transport arrived at the Sheriff’s office parking around noon on Sunday, the trooper exited the vehicle and he was walking to the passenger’s side to get Scott out when according to Tietz, Tierra Scott, slipped out of her handcuffs and got in the drivers seat of the police car and drove away.

The trooper tried to get back in the car but Tietz locked the doors and when she drove away the trooper was holding on to the car and was dragged for a bit. The trooper suffered minor injuries and was taken to the Cobleskill Hospital and later released.

It took police about seven hours to finally find Scott who was then apprehended and sent to the Schoharie County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
