How You Can Help Cancer Patients in the Hudson Valley
For the past 14 years, there has been a group of people dedicated to doing what they can to make life for those fighting cancer a little easier.
In honor and memory of their Mom, Rosemary Gruner, the Gruner family started the Benedictine Health Foundation's Rosemary Gruner Memorial Cancer Fund to quietly and respectfully give cancer patients a hand so they didn't have to worry about having food in their home or gas in their car.
Over the past fourteen years, more than 1700 individuals have been helped by this fund. The Bike for Cancer Care is the only event that is held annually to raise money for the fund and this year's event was held over the weekend.
Summer came back with lots of heat and humidity, but no one was deterred. They started the day with more than 100,000 raised and it went up from there.
Their goal this year is to raise $160,000 and you can help them reach that by making an on-line donation. You'll be helping them help even more individuals in the Hudson Valley.
If you, or someone you know, could use a helping hand, please call (845) 334-3017 or click here. That’s what it’s there for, that’s why people ride, walk, and run every year, and that’s why I am so proud to be a part of this event.
