For the past 15 years, there has been a group of people dedicated to doing what they can to make life for those fighting cancer a little easier. In honor and memory of their Mom, Rosemary Gruner, the Gruner family started the Benedictine Health Foundation's Rosemary Gruner Memorial Cancer Fund to quietly and respectfully give cancer patients a hand so they didn't have to worry about having food in their home or gas in their car.

Over the past fifteen years, more than 1900 individuals have been helped by this fund. The Bike for Cancer Care is the only event that is held annually to raise money for the fund and this year's event is coming up on Sunday, September 23 at Dietz Stadium in Kingston.

Whether you bike, run or walk, we hope you’ll join us for a day of fun and help for cancer pateinest here in the Hidson valley. For cyclists, three different bike routes are offered, a 12, 25, and the Dan Barnes Memorial 50 mile ride. If you're a runner, why not try the family-friendly 5K Run/Walk for Cancer Care, taking place throughout the Historic Stockade District in Uptown Kingston and the Kids’ Fun Run, inside Dietz Stadium.

You don’t have to be a serious cyclist or runner to participate, just show up ready to have a great day.  To sign-up or donate, go to bikeforcancer.org.
