Come be apart of something that has helped over 1900 Mid - Hudson Valley residence battling cancer. The 16th Annual Bike For Cancer Care takes place this Sunday (September 22, 2019) at Dietz Stadium in Kingston. This event benefits the Benedictine Health Foundation's Rosemary Gruner Memorial Cancer Fund. It's a bike ride, a run and a walk depending on what you want to do to help.

The Bike Ride offers 3 distances 12, 25 and 50 miles traveling through Ulster County. Each ride begins at Dietz Stadium in Kingston. The 12 mile ride heads to Hurley, the 25 mile ride extends to Marbletown, Stone Ridge and Rosendale. And the 50 mile ride continues to the Shawangunk Mountains of New Paltz. All the start and finishes are at Dietz Stadium 170 North Front Street in Kingston. Registration begins at 7:45 AM.

Another opportunity for everyone to participate this year is the 2019 Bike for Cancer Care 5K Run/Walk event that is dedicated in honor of Robert D. Cook Jr. who passed away this past January. Bob was Principal of Rondout Valley High School. He was a 1988 graduate of Kingston High School and an avid sports enthusiast. He volunteered many years for the Bike for Cancer Care 5K Walk/Run event. This event is held throughout the historic Stockade District in Uptown Kingston.

This event is a great way for the entire family to enjoy fall in the Hudson Valley while helping out cancer patients and their families in our community. If you can't plan to ride run or walk you can help by volunteering or just making a donation. Find out more at bikeforcancer.org
