A voluntary recall has been issued for a limited quantity of popular frozen meals due to the potential presence of a wood-like material.

Nestlé USA, the company that makes and distributes hundreds of the products many of us have in our homes has announced it has initiated a voluntary recall of a limited quantity of it's Lean Cuisine and STOUFFER’S frozen meals.

Lean Cuisine and STOUFFER’S Recall

The voluntary recall was issued on Monday, March 17th after consumers contacted Nestlé USA to report the potential presence of wood-like material in select frozen meals. The recall covers a limited quantity of Lean Cuisine® and STOUFFER’S® frozen meals including the following items: Lean Cuisine® Butternut Squash Ravioli, Lean Cuisine® Spinach Artichoke Ravioli, Lean Cuisine® Lemon Garlic Shrimp Stir Fry, and STOUFFER’S® Party Size Chicken Lasagna.

Each of the meals was produced between August 2024 and March 2025 and distributed at major retailers and grocery stores across the U.S. between September 2024-March 2025 according to a Nestlé USA press release. The recalled meals can be identified by checking the batch codes on the side of the product packaging in the pictures below.

This recall is isolated to a limited quantity and does not involve any other Lean Cuisine® or STOUFFER’S® products, just the meals mentioned above.

What to Do With Recalled Meals

Nestlé USA is warning customers that they have been notified of one potential choking incident to date and are actively investigating the source of the wood-like material. They said,

"We are confident that this is an isolated issue, and we have taken action to address it. The quality, safety, and integrity of our products remain our number one priority. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this action represents to both our consumers and retail customers."

 

If you have any of the meals above, Nestle USA is warning customers that they should not prepare or consume the product. Customers should return the recalled products to the retailer where they were purchased for a replacement or a full refund. If you need more information, you can contact Nestlé USA at (800) 681-1676 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
