New York State Police are asking for the public’s help as they continue trying to locate a 17-year-old in Dutchess County, NY.

Police Searching For Teenager in Dutchess County, NY

According to the New York State Police, troopers are currently conducting an active investigation in the Town of LaGrange and are attempting to locate 17-year-old Matthew Haass.

Police say Haass is approximately 5-foot-2 to 5-foot-3 and weighs around 125 pounds. He was last seen wearing black shorts and black socks.

Police haven't said why they are trying to locate Haass but did say there is no immediate threat to the general public. However, residents in the LaGrange area may notice a heavier-than-normal police presence as troopers continue their search.

Authorities have not released many additional details but are asking anyone who may have seen Haass or knows where he could be to please contact them.

If you are in the LaGrange area and happen to see someone matching Haass' description, police are asking you not to approach or attempt to handle the situation yourself. Instead, call 911 and provide authorities with as much information as possible about his location and direction of travel.
