If you are a fan of the Yankees or the Mets, your not going to want to miss this event.

According to the Poughkeepsie Journal, former New York Met and Yankee Darryl Strawberry will be in Rhinebeck in Dutchess County, on Sunday May 20th at the Rhinebeck Reformed Church at 9:45 a.m. The church is located at 6368 Mill St, Rhinebeck.

Strawberry will speak during the Sunday service and after will be selling and signing copies of his book “Don’t Give Up on Me: Shedding Light on Addiction with Darryl Strawberry.” No other items including baseballs and any other memorabilia will not be signed at this appearance.

Strawberry won four World Series titles with the Mets in 1986, and with the Yankees in 1996, 1998 and 1999. He also was an eight time All-Star, the 1983 National League Rookie of the Year, all during his 17 year Major League Baseball career.

Strawberry also battled drug addiction and has struggled for a long time off the field, Strawberry said that “I was once very tormented and lost, but now I am found and free”.

The event is free and open to the public.
