This week, Rowdy will be shining the spotlight on the some of the most famous duets in country music history. Some of these artists would catch lightning in the bottle with only one song, while others would find success over and over again to the point that many fans wished they would sing and tour together exclusively.
Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn released their first duet in 1971, "We only Make Believe", which went to #3 on the charts, was certified gold, and was the beginning of a beautiful friendship. They would go on to release 11 studio albums together, release 12 singles, and have five #1 hits. They were the most awarded male/female country duo in history.
You can't have a famous duet show without including Johnny and June Carter Cash.
Another famous country duet were a couple in real life, George Jones and Tammy Wynette. They recorded songs and albums that charted staring in the 1970's. Including this classic.
And of course the most famous country duet of all time, Kenny and Dolly, "Islands in the Stream"
