If you have a favorite country song, or two, that you haven’t heard in awhile, chances are that Rowdy Yates has it and will play it for you every weekend on The Original Country Gold with Rowdy Yates, Saturday nights from 7 to midnight and Sunday mornings from 6-11.
This week Rowdy will be something a little differently. He'll have two features this weekend Conway Twitty and some classic country Christmas songs. According to Wikipedia, Conway started his career in rock and roll, and had some success with a handful of top ten hits. But he always wanted to record a country music and in 1965 he did just that, and we are forever grateful that he did. He would go on to win 7 ACM awards, 4 CMA awards, 2 Grammys, and is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Rockabilliy Hall of Fame.
He released this song in 1970 and it became his biggest country hit.
This song always moves me to tears.
Here's another favorite of mine, I remember my uncle singing to this every time it came on the radio.
Don’t miss a Conway and Christmas edition of The Original Country Gold with Rowdy Yates, this Saturday night from 7 to midnight and Sunday morning from 6-11 on 94.3/97.3 The Wolf. He's taking requests and has special stocking stuffers for you to win.
