As we turn the calendar to October, one would think the topic of conversation would be Halloween.

However, there's a lot of discussion going on right now about the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree. They usually announce where the tree is coming from in early October.

One Hudson Valley town says they have some big Rockefeller Center news.

Town of Beekman Teases Big Rockefeller Center Announcement

On September 30th, 2026, The Town of Beekman took to their social media page to share some exciting news.

In the statement they write "We have a very special celebration coming up, and we can’t wait to share more details with you!"

From there the Town of Beekman adds this fun little tidbit:

Our little town is about to make a BIG appearance at Rockefeller Center!
We’re so excited and proud to share this moment with our community. Stay tuned.

Many took that piece of information and assumed that it meant the 2026 Rockefeller Center Christmas tree was from the Town of Beekman.

A day after the initial announcement, The Town of Beekman confirmed some of the details...

Is The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Coming From The Town of Beekman?

The Town of Beekman and Hudson Valley community was buzzing! Talks of the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree coming from Beekman were all over social media.

So is the Rockefeller Center Tree actually coming from the Town of Beekman this year?

Town of Beekman Supervisor Laureen Abbatantuono wrote that there was a "Christmas Tree Update." Supervisor Abbatantuono adds "I was able to gather a few more details about the Christmas Tree excitement, and I wanted to share an update with you all."

Here's the official statement:

I can confirm that the tree will not be going to Rockefeller Center, but it will be going to the New York Stock Exchange — which is just as exciting!

Abbatantuono shared that they're keeping the exact location of the tree private to protect the family's privacy.

The New York Stock exchange Christmas Tree lighting tradition is over 100 years old.

This year they're celebrating the 103rd Wall Street Stock Exchange Christmas Tree Lighting on December 3rd from 3:30pm until 6:30 pm. The NYSE website describes the event as "an incredible community celebration that marks the start of the holiday season!"

There will be live performances and "various company activations." The event is open to the public.

Rumor Mill: Could a Stormville, NY Tree Be Headed to Rockefeller Center?

So we squashed one Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree rumor, but there is another making it rounds.

I recently saw a post from New York Meteorologist Brian Fitzgerald, which stirred up even more conversation about the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree. Fitzgerald wrote:

Rumor has it the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree is coming from Stormville, NY.

There's been no confirmation just yet, but we're keeping a close eye on this story and we'll keep you updated when more information is made available.
