If you have a favorite country song, or two, that you haven't heard in awhile, chances are that Rowdy Yates has it and will play it for you every weekend on The Original Country Gold with Rowdy Yates, Saturday nights from 7 to midnight and Sunday mornings from 6-11.

This week Rowdy will be shining the spotlight on Ronnie Milsap, one of country music's most popular and influential performers of the seventies and eighties. He's won 4 ACM awards, 8 CMA awards, 6 Grammy Awards, had 40 #1 country hits (only George Strait and Conway Twitty have had more) and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2014.

Here's a few of his biggest hits.

This song won him a Grammy for best Male Country Vocal Performance in 1982. 'There's no Gettin' Over Me', a top

'Lost in the Fifties' Tonight' was a big hit for Ronnie in 1985. It won the ACM award for Song of the Year, was the #1 country song on Billboard for that year, won the CMA award for Album of the Year, and won the Grammy award for Best Male Country Performance in 1986 and 1987.

And one of my personal favorites, 'Smokey Mountain Rain'.

Don't miss this very special edition of The Original Country Gold with Rowdy Yates, this Saturday night from 7 to midnight and Sunday morning from 6-11 on 94.3/97.3 The Wolf.
