If you have a favorite country song, or two, that you haven’t heard in awhile, chances are that Rowdy Yates has it and will play it for you weekends on The Original Country Gold with Rowdy Yates, Saturday nights from 7 to midnight and Sunday mornings from 6-11.

This week, Rowdy will be shining the spotlight on the music of Kenny Rogers. He's had charted singles in every decade since the 50's, that's 70 years. He's won numerous CMA awards, American Music Awards, Academy of Country Music Awards, CMT awards, and three Grammys.

Kenny's played in front of millions of people all over the world. He's been in more than ten TV movies, is an author, and two of his albums, 'The Gambler' and 'Kenny', have made countless lists of being amongst the most influential in all of country music. He said goodbye to the road last year, but we still have his music to keep us company.

I remember listening to this song over and over again on my uncle's record player.

Written and produced by Lionel Richie, all of the ladies just swooned.

and who could forget this classic...no lip syncing here!

That's one of the things I love about Rowdy's show, whether he's playing an older artist like Kenny or Merle Haggard, or younger ones like Garth, Alan Jackson, etc, it always bring backs memories and I find myself singing along before I know it.

Don’t miss Kenny Rogers twice an hour this weekend on The Original Country Gold with Rowdy Yates, Saturday night from 7 to midnight and Sunday morning from 6-11 on 94.3/97.3 The Wolf.
