City of Middletown Tree Lighting and Parade
Thanksgiving is just days away, and you know what happens after that. The official kick off of the holiday season. And that means tree lightings and parades all over the Hudson valley. If you're in the Orange County area, you can catch one this weekend.
The City of Middletown will hold their annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and Parade this Friday, Nov. 29, at 6PM. It has been a day-after-Thanksgiving tradition in Middletown for years. The parade will start on North Street, head to West Main Street and draws to conclusion at Festival Square for ceremony involving a special appearance from Santa to assist in lighting the tree. Entertainment will take place at Run 4 Downtown Park on North Street, and Festival Square on West Main Street. Following the festivities, a free showing of It’s a Wonderful Life will take place at the Paramount Theatre at 7:45.
Letters To the North Pole Mailboxes will be in place at Festival Square & The Paramount lobby. Be sure to bring your letter to Santa with you and drop it in one of the "Merry Mailboxes".
