A New York Yankee fan-favorite, a 4-time Bombers World Series Champion, is endorsing Donald Trump for President.

Trump picked up a surprise Yankee’s endorsement Tuesday night. Following Trump’s victories in the Michigan and Mississippi Paul O’Neill was spotted in the audience for Trump’s victorious press conference.

After Trump noticed O’Neill he called out “I love you,” to the man late Yankee owner George Steinbrenner nicknamed “Warrior.” Trump and O'Neill were later photographed together.

Washington Post writer Ben Terris tweeted that O’Neill was in the crowd, adding O’Neill said he “is a big Trump supporter.”

O’Neill played 9 seasons in the Bronx. Prior to wearing Pinstripes, he spent 8 seasons with the Cincinnati Reds. O’Neill was born in Columbus, Ohio and still lives there. His support of Trump can’t be good for Trump’s Republican rival and fellow Ohioan, John Kasich.
