Meet the Wolf Den Hero Inductee for June 2025
Each month, The Wolf teams up with Mid Hudson Pump and MHA of Dutchess County to select one of our area's first responders to be inducted into the Wolf Den of Heroes from among everyone who has been nominated to date.
The Wolf Den Hero inductee for this month, June 2025, is Retired Sgt. William Carr. Nominated by Meghan, who calls him Bill, we are excited to share his story.
Here is the nomination Meghan wrote:
Bill's first responder career started as a volunteer firefighter with the Ruby Fire Dept. at 16 years old. He joined the Marine Corps at 20 and served from 2008 to 2017, getting medically retired after 2 combat deployments to Afghanistan.
After getting out, he continued to serve the community by volunteering with the Hudson Valley National Center for Veteran Reintegration, building kayaks with struggling veterans. He worked with the Ulster County Sheriff’s office as a Corrections Officer before serving as a security officer for the Kingston City School District.
