Another Hudson Valley resident is waking up a whole lot richer after hitting a $2 million top prize on a New York Lottery scratch-off ticket.

September has been a big month for lottery winners in the Hudson Valley. Earlier this week, we learned that a $4 million Mega Millions winning ticket sold in Newburgh had been claimed. Now, we've learned that an Ulster County man has cashed a winning scratch-off ticket worth a whopping $2 million.

Man Claims $2 Million Lottery Win in Ulster County, NY

According to the New York Lottery, Robert Osterhoudt of Ulster Park is officially a multi-million-dollar lottery winner after claiming the top prize on the $2,000,000 100X Cashword scratch-off game.

Like all lottery prizes, Osterhoudt won't actually be taking home the full $2 million. He elected to take his prize as a single lump-sum payment of $898,386 after required taxes and withholdings.

Still, that's certainly not a bad payday from a scratch-off ticket.

Where Was The Winning Ticket Sold?

The winning $20 ticket was purchased in Ulster County at the 443 Broadway Mart Sunoco, located at 443 Broadway (Route 9W) in Ulster Park.

It's another big lottery win for the region and another reminder that sometimes that little piece of cardboard you grab while getting gas, picking up snacks, or stopping at the store can turn into a life-changing ticket.

The $2,000,000 100X Cashword game is one of the New York Lottery's scratch-off games offering a top prize of $2 million. As of this writing, there are still three $2 million top prizes remaining in the game. Of course, that doesn't mean someone is guaranteed to find one of those remaining prizes. But for anyone who enjoys playing New York Lottery scratch-offs, there are still some pretty big prizes out there.

Players can check the current status of New York Lottery scratch-off games, including how many top prizes remain, by downloading the official Game Report from the New York Lottery website.
