Winter Weather Blowing Through The Hudson Valley This Week

It feels like October came and went and now were flying through the month of November. Maybe it's just me, but it has felt much chillier than it has in recent years this month.

It looks like we'll get a taste of winter before the official start of the season.

Ben Noll, everyone's favorite meteorologist from the Hudson Valley, gave us a look at the winter-like forecast for this week. On Facebook Noll writes:

Get ready for a taste of winter! It's going to feel like January in the Hudson Valley on Tuesday.
The big weather story this week is the frigid air that’s headed toward the East Coast from the North Pole.

According to Noll's forecast, overnight this week form November 10th through November 16th lows will be anywhere between 20F - 36F degrees.  Noll adds "The week ahead will turn windy and cool in the Hudson Valley and might even feature a flurry or two."

Thankfully, this forecast is just a quick hit of winter weather. Take a look at the full, frosty, forecast for this week below:

Noll explains there are no snow days just yet and this cold weather " will be transient. A fleeting visitor rather than a long-term guest."

But is this a warning as to what we should expect when winter actually arrives?

Ben Noll's Hudson Valley Winter Outlook 2025-2026

The first day of the winter season this year isn't until December 21st, so there's still some time to prepare.

But what should we expect here in the Hudson Valley?

Ben Noll sent out an email blast to his followers and broke down what were in store for this winter. He explained "Only one winter out of the last seven has had above-average snowfall across the Hudson Valley."

For 2025-2026 winter season he doesn't expect the Hudson Valley to break any records for snow writing "I think snowfall will most likely be near or slightly below the seasonal average, which is around 40 inches.

He goes on to say that he expects "several sharp cold snaps" and more mixed precipitation events.

Has the First Snow Fallen in New York Already?

The Hudson Valley hasn't seen any of the dreaded white precipitation, but other parts of the state have!

On October 23rd, 2025, the New York State Department shared photos on Facebook of one of the first snowfalls of the season, which happened on the Whiteface Veterans Memorial Highway in Essex County.
