Winter weather has already hit parts of the Hudson Valley this year and according to some weather services we can expect plenty more, so this is a good time to check your winter preparedness list. One of the most important things to plan is you winter emergency kit for your car. Getting stuck on the side of the road or worst on the highway in a storm can be dreadful as well as dangerous if you haven't prepared.

When traveling this winter whether it is a short trip or long one it is always a good idea to have things in your car that can help you stay warm and safe in case of an emergency. The Old Farmer's Almanac has a great list you can check out by clicking here. I never leave home this time of year without an extra coat, a second pair of gloves and boots. Plus because I drive with my dog I also plan for her safety as well, which includes water and food.
