Why You Don’t Have to Do Anything on Monday
Who is ready for an extra day off. Not one you necessarily planned for but something more spur of the moment. You are in luck because Monday, March 22 is National Goof Off Day.
On Monday feel free to tell the bosses you taking a little extra "me" time and when they ask why just say because it is National Goof Off Day. Then maybe invite them to join in on the fun. After all, no one wants their boss annoyed with them when you get back to work the next day.
I think it is interesting that National Goof Off Day is the day after we start Spring. They say we all get a bit of spring fever this time of year and I would have to agree. So why not expel some of that spring energy by celebrating on Monday and take some time for yourself and goof off.
According to the National Days Calendar Monica Dufour founded Goof Off Day in 1976. It brilliant if you think about it. Setting aside a day to just do nothing. Who couldn't go for that right now? Coming off the COVID 19 pandemic and a snowy winter is like the perfect storm for those of us currently looking for a reason to do nothing.
And remember if you truly want to goof off you can't make a plan, you can't stick to a schedule and, under no circumstances, should you do any work. You will need to unplug from your devices and just goof off for the day.
