What's changed for Michael Ray since marrying his new bride, Carly Pearce? Only good things, he insists.

"It's been awesome," Ray tells Pop Culture. "Not much has really changed. We were already living together."

How'd They Get Together, Anyways?

Ray and Pearce married on Oct. 6, 2019, a Sunday, at a historic venue about 15 miles north of Nashville. The ceremony was officiated by Bill Cody, a radio DJ and announcer at the Grand Ole Opry — a reflection of the young couple's love of traditional country.

Aside from living together as husband and wife, there has been one major change to their relationship since tying the knot:

"I joked and said, 'The one thing that's really changed is her last name,'" Ray continues. "There is a deeper connection and a deeper love that you do automatically have afterwards. Everybody told me that but it's one of those things that you don't understand unless you feel it. And I definitely felt it. You just naturally go to this next level, which is pretty cool."

Ray admits it was a magical moment seeing his bride in her wedding gown for the first time, The waterworks actually came before Pearce walked down the aisle, which was a "blessing" to "get it all out" prior to seeing her in her dress.

"It was like a slow-motion moment for me," Ray recounts. "I was like, 'This is really happening.' You spend so long anticipating it, and she looked so beautiful. And seeing her dad with her – I'm a big family guy, and seeing both families finally together, and everybody meeting new members of families, it was just really cool."

The couple will honeymoon this month, since they both have time off from touring and their busy work schedules.
