Jess’ Pay It Forward Moment
We're in the thick of it this holiday season. The stores are absolutely mobbed and everyone is rushing to get the last of their shopping done.
I generally stay away from big stores to avoid the craziness, but over the weekend I needed to make a quick stop at the Dollar Store.
Once I stepped foot inside, I knew this wasn't going to be a quick visit. The lines were insanely long, people had their carts overflowing with dollar finds and the cashiers were working as fast as they could.
I was buying a wine bottle bag. Just one item. But I knew I was in it for the long haul. So I stepped up to the extremely long line on aisle 1.
While minding my own business as the line move the woman in front of me, who had a ton of toys, said "You only have that item, don't wait behind me!" and let me cut her in line.
I made sure that she was really okay with it and she couldn't have been nicer.
I wished the woman a Merry Christmas and thanked her profusely. Sure it was a small gesture, but it's the thought that counts. I'll be paying it forward the rest of this holiday season.
So thank you lady on line 1 at the Dollar Store. You restored my holiday spirit.
