21 Dogs Found Deceased at Argyle, New York Boarding Facility

On Monday August 25, 2025 the Washington County Sheriff's Office released a statement in regard to a gruesome discover at a local dog kennel.

In the statement we learn that the Washington County Sheriff's Office was called to Anastasia's Acres Dog Boarding facility in the Town of Argyle, New York. There was a report of deceased dogs on the scene.

Sadly, when officers arrived they "determined that 21 dogs in total were found deceased."

When news broke that the Washington County Sheriff's Office reported that an investigation was immediately launched. Now, we have some more answers and an updated on the kennel owners.

 

UPDATE: Upstate, NY Kennel Owners Arrested

According to News Channel 13 "A failed or disabled ventilation system" is being reported as the cause of death for the 21 dogs.

The news site points out that the Anastasia's Acres website states their on-site "Dog Cottage is climate controlled (heated and air conditioned)" adding that the dogs spend most of their outdoors in the play yards.

Now, CBS 6 is reporting that owners of Anastasia's Acres 48-year-old Robert Palulis and 38-year-old Anastasia Palulis, have been arrested.

The investigation revealed that the couple "failed to provide adequate water and ventilation for the animals in their care." They Washington County Sheriff's Office details their charges in a press release writing:

As a result of the investigation the Sheriff’s Office has charged the owners of Anastasia’s Acres Dog Boarding, Robert Palulis (48) and Anastasia Palulis (38)with twenty-two (22) counts of section 353 of the New York State Agriculture and Markets Law,( Overdriving, Torturing, and Injuring Animals; Failure to Provide Proper Sustenance), class A Misdemeanors.

They were released on an appearance ticket to appear at the Argyle Town Court on a later date.

Families React to Heartbreaking News From Anastasia's Acres

As more details are released, more families are reacting.

News Channel 13 spoke to 2 families affected by the alleged ventilation system failure at Anastasia's Acres.

A woman from Glens Falls dropped her 2 pit bulls, named Luna and Odin, at the facility last Friday. Her family was vacation in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina when they learned both dogs has died.

Odin and Luna had stayed at the facility last summer, with no issues. The owner details the moment she had to break the news to her family that both their dogs had died telling News Channel 13:

“I called back, and they told me that both dogs had passed away. My husband got back down to the beach. I informed him. We informed the children because obviously they had already seen me on the phone upset. And both kids literally broke down and fell to their knees,”
