It's time for another scam alert. This time around it involves getting a union job.

According to the Times Herald Record, Michael Allocca, of Washingtonville has been indicted by an Orange County grand jury for first degree scheme to defraud, which is a felony.

The district attorney’s office claims that Allocca was telling people that he was a recruiter for Laborer’s Union Local 731 and after he convinced them that he was a recruiter he would collected $150 a piece from them with the promise of a union job in the future.

The scam according to the DA's office is that Allocca has no ties to the union at all.

Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying other victims who might have fallen for the scam. If you were a victim of the scam you are asked to call the district attorney’s office at 845-291-2050 and ask for Investigator John Chivattoni.

Allocca is now scheduled to appear back in Orange County Court on November 4th.
