Professional Barbie Themed Pageant Returns To The Hudson Valley

My only experience with any beauty pageant was about 15 years ago, maybe more when I helped judge the Miss Ulster County pageant. I was not the pageant type growing up but I had friends who loved it.

Not having kids I also didn't realize that there are still so many active pageant programs. For some reason I thought they had faded out of fashion, no pun intended but it seems that couldn't be farther from the truth.

Sunburst Beauty Pageant Returns to the Newburgh Mall, New York

Last week the Newburgh Mall announced that they would be once again home to a Sunburst Beauty Pageant later this year. Their post has been shared over 80 times and the comments all seem to be from excited people who know would-be pageant contestants.

The Newburgh Mall Pageant titled The Pretty in Pink Pageant will be held at the Mall on Route 300 in Newburgh New York on March 16th at 11 AM. The age groups for the pageant vary. They start as young as under 1 year and go all the way up to 28 years of age and over.

How To Enter The Pretty In Pink Pageant at the Newburgh Mall

The event is offering both girl and boy pageant age categories. According to the information, everyone wins a trophy and a crown. The Newburgh Mall Pageant will have both Barbie and Ken Crowns. For those of you who may be thinking that the pageant world is no place for children, Sunburst Beauty Pageant would disagree. According to their mission statement, they provide a wholesome competition that the whole family can enjoy.

They create an environment where contestants can grow, mature, develop, and exhibit their talents, personalities, interpersonal skills, and sportsmanship. Sunburst alumni have gone on to be Miss America, Miss USA, and Miss Universe winners plus many end up as doctors, lawyers, CPAs, business leaders, engineers, actors, singers, dancers, and musicians.
