I guess we all need a reminder once in a while.

Now is probably the time to refresh yourself on proper hiking accessories. Now that the weather has cleared up in the Hudson Valley people will be traveling far and wide to visit the popular trails in our area.

It's always good to be prepared. Shoes are an important part of an enjoyable hiking experience. Whether you own hiking boots or just sneakers you're comfortable climbing over rocks and steep hills with, it's still better than what this woman was working with.

ABC7 NY reports that an Arizona Sheriff's Department "sandal shamed" a hiker who needed to be rescued. The hiker thought that sandals were a good choice while hiking a 10 mile hike.

The sheriff's department then shared the story and pictures of the woman's "flimsy shoe" on Facebook.

Some think it was too far, I personally think it's a great reminder.

A few weeks ago I saw a man climbing Mount Beacon with no shoes or socks on. It probably didn't feel great.

Remember your shoes, people. You don't want to end up sandal shamed.
