Twisters in the IT Movie of Summer 2024

It's the hottest movie right now, Twisters is taking over the US Box Office. In an article posted on ScreenRant.com earlier this week we learned, thanks to Collider, that Twisters "Twisters has passed the $100 million mark domestically" which was propelled by "an impressive $12 million haul on Tuesday, July 23."

So far Twisters has earned $102 million at the box office. Needless to say the sequel to 1996s Twister has been a hit with critics and fans alike.

Glen Powell has become the leading man that the film industry has been searching for over the last few years and Daisy Edgar-Jones is quickly becoming one of the most talked about actresses.

Twisters the 4DX Experience

There's one way to watch Twisters that taking the world by storm (pun 100% intended). Have you heard of 4DX?

Sure you can see it in 3D, IMAX and at your local Drive-In, but one of the most popular way fans have been watching Twisters in in 4DX.

4DX is, according to the Regal Cinema website, "the biggest innovation in cinematic technology to date."

Variety explains that the seats in 4DX theaters are "equipped to shake, vibrate and occasionally shoot out water in sync with the action that's unfolding on screen." Making Twisters an intense movie going experience.

@sharmedlife I’ve never experienced a movie like this! We watched Twisters in the World’s largest 4DX auditorium right here in NYC! #4DXusapartner 4DX uses synchronized motion seats and environmental effects like water, wind, fog, scent and more for a fully immersive theatre experience. We were transported right into all of the action! Don’t miss your chance to see Twisters in 4DX. Grab you friends, get your tickets and buckle in for the ride of a lifetime! @Universal Pictures @4DX #feelitin4DX #4dx #twistersmovie #twisters #SeeMoreIn4DX #nyc #thingstodoinnyc #nycthingstodo #immersiveexperience #twisters ♬ Powerful songs like action movie music - Tansa

Your experiencing a tornado from your movie theater seat. It's like a ride. So much so that there are warnings. This is part of the written warning on the Regal website:

The 4DX equipment can aggravate existing medical conditions or cause users to suffer a loss of equilibrium or balance, headaches or dizziness and in extraordinary circumstances, epilepsy-like symptons. If you are pregnant, elderly, physically or mentally sensitive or have any of the following health conditions, you should not use a 4DX auditorium: high blood pressure, heart conditions, allergies, neck or back conditions or epilepsy.

Sounds intense, right?

Where Can You See Twisters 4DX in New York?

After seeing all the videos of the Twisters 4DX experience, I have to say I'm intrigued! So where in New York can you see Twisters in 4DX?

This should come as no surprise, but the only 4DX theaters in New York are in NYC area. There are 4 locations at Regal Theaters in Time Square, Union Square and Regal Tangram. A little closer to the Hudson Valley is the 4DX theater in New Rochelle. Tickets are about $30.

Not bad for a road trip that ends with a unique movie going experience, right?
