Thursday January 25th is both fun and annoying all the same time. How is that possible you say? Well simple it is National Opposite Day which means there is a good chance you will encounter someone doing something opposite today and that can be fun but also annoying.

People will tell you they are going to do it right now and then they wait. People might tell you that they are going to be early and then be late. The whole idea about celebrating National Opposite Day is to do the opposite of what you say you are going to do. You can image that this is particularly fun for kids.

There is so much misinformation about this day it even has some confusion regarding when National Opposite Day actually is celebrated. According to the National Days Calendar some say it is actually on January 7th, while others claim you can celebrate on the 25th of every month. So next year at Christmas you could try celebrating by telling the kids Santa didn't come but then I going to suggested to retract that quickly and a National Opposite Day prank.

I think we should all try to do nice things in the opposite. For instance tell a co-worker you're going to lunch but then invite them along your treat. There always the harmless way to celebrate with mismatched shoes or socks. Whatever you decide feel free to have some childish fun today doing everything opposite from what you say. And remember if you share it on social media use #nationaloppositeday.
