Poughkeepsie Fire Department Gets New Member
The City of Poughkeepsie fire department just got a little bigger.
On Saturday, September 21st the City of Poughkeepsie Fire Department took to Facebook to welcome a new member to their squad. Nickolas is a 3-year-old rescue from a shelter in South Carolina.
Nickolas is being fostered by the Poughkeepsie Fire Department through Incredible Pups Pet Rescue and The Lola Project.
Britney from The Lola Project told us that they are working to "educate and advocate for mental health awareness, and the benefits of service dogs especially for military and first responders."
By teaming up with local Hudson Valley rescue, Incredible Pups Pet Rescue, they were able to place Nickolas with the City of Poughkeepsie Fire Department until he finds his forever home.
For more details on The Lola Project you can visit their Facebook Page.
