A cold front is expected to pass through the Hudson Valley this afternoon and into the evening. With this, the National Weather Service is alerting us to the possibility of severe weather.

The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather statement for Sullivan County. Thunderstorms are expected to develop across Central Pennsylvania this afternoon and track east across Northeast Pennsylvania and Sullivan County from late this afternoon into this evening. There is a potential for a squall line with damaging winds, large hail and even a few isolated tornadoes.

Currently, the entire Hudson Valley is under a flash flood watch from 5 pm today until late tonight. The National Weather Service is calling for the potential of rain with embedded thunderstorms. These storms will move across the area from late this afternoon into tonight. We could see locally heavy rainfall, possibly exceeding an inch per hour.

We will watch this system for you as it develops across the region today and keep you updated with the latest information.
