Popular Ulster County Diner Closes

UPDATE! The Port Ewen Diner is reopening Saturday January 16th at 6 a.m.

The closure is due to a COVID-19 exposure.

One thing that has been consistent thought the COVID-19 pandemic is that many of our favorite places to eat or have a drink have had to close down. Some places have gone out of business due to the pandemic and others have had to temporarily close down due to a COVID exposure.

Unfortunately you can now add the Port Ewen Diner to the list of temporarily closed. The diner is located on Route 9W (295 Broadway), in Port Ewen just up the road from Ulster County BOCES and according to their Facebook page, they've decided to close for the safety of their customers. Their Facebook post reads,

Unfortunately we have been exposed to covid-19. We opted to close for the safety of our customers. Will be cleaning and sanitizing using the company Servpro. We will reopen as soon as possible. Sorry for any inconvenience. Be safe and be well! We will keep you posted when we reopen. Thank you for your continued support and understanding at this time.

Sad that they have to close for now, but this is another great example of a local Hudson Valley business putting our well being first and helping to stop the spread of this awful pandemic. The good news here is that they are planning to open back up when they can.

As soon as they are ready to reopen, we will update this article and would encourage everyone reading this to get a meal or two from them when they do. If you need some help on what to order, I would strongly recommend any of their burgers or their soups, they're some of the best around!
