The pizza giant Pizza Hut has announced plans to close 250 locations across the United States.

Over the next few months, the pizza landscape is expected to drastically change as the parent company of Pizza Hut has announced that it is planning to close 250 underperforming restaurants nationwide.

Pizza Hut Closing Locations

Yum Brands, which also owns KFC and Taco Bell, recently told investors that its exploring ways to improve performance at Pizza Hut across the nation, which could include closing 250 underperforming locations in the first half of 2026. Back in November, the company revealed it had begun a formal review of its strategic options, which included the possibility of putting the pizza chain up for sale. That review is expected to be completed this year, according to WRGB.

The company didn't say which of its over 6,000 U.S. locations would be closing at this time, but it's expected that it will shutter approximately 3% of its restaurants across the country, according to CNN. Pizza Hut has 19,974 locations worldwide.

Pizza Hut Closing in New York

Currently, Pizza Hut has approximately 150+ locations open across New York state, including Hudson Valley restaurants in Newburgh, NY, at 75 North Plank Rd, in Middletown, NY, on Route 211, and another one at 22 Sullivan Avenue in Liberty, NY. There are also a few Pizza Hut Express locations in Monroe, NY, and Montgomery, NY.

It's unclear if any of the New York Pizza Hut locations will be affected by the restructuring plan. When that information is available, we will update this article.
