
A Second Person Jumps From Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge, Search Underway
For the second time this week, a person has jumped from the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge.
According to multiple reports, first responders were dispatched to the Kingston-Rhinecliff bridge around 1 p.m. on Thursday afternoon after it was reported that a person had jumped from the span.

Details are limited at this time, but according to the Daily Freeman, multiple police and fire personnel are conducting a massive search to locate the person who reportedly jumped from the span.

Town of Ulster Police Chief Kyle Berardi told the Freeman that “multiple resources” were being deployed to the area, including first responders from the Town of Ulster police, the Ulster Hose dive team, the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office dive team, a state police aviation team, and the Glasco and East Kingston fire departments.
Road Closures Near Rhinebeck, NY
Multiple commuters have told us that the incident led to traffic delays along both approaches of the bridge, and forced responders to close Route 199 west of Route 9G in both directions and restricted traffic across the span for hours.
Second Person to Jump From Bridge
This incident comes just three days after an unidentified woman jumped from the span that crosses the Hudson River at approximately 3:22 a.m. on Monday, August 18th, 2025.
Sadly, her body was later found near the shore of Charles Rider Park, where first responders pronounced her deceased.
