
Deputies Interrupt Burglary at Gas Station in Rhinebeck
Dutchess County Sheriff's Deputies foil an early morning burglary in progress at a gas station in Rhinebeck, NY.
Members of law enforcement have long said that one of the things they love about being on the "job" is how random most of the calls are that they respond to, and that they never know what they might encounter while on patrol.
That might be what the Dutchess County Sheriff Deputies who responded to an early morning security alarm activation might be saying today.
Burglary in Progress at a Gas Station in Rhinebeck, New York
According to the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) Facebook page, it all started on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at approximately 2:18 a.m. when the Dutchess County Deputy Sheriffs on patrol were called to respond to a reported security alarm activation at a Shell gas station in Rhinebeck, NY.

As deputies arrived at the gas station located at 3904 Route 9G in Rhinebeck, they discovered that a burglary was in progress.
Dutchess County Sheriff's Deputies Interrupt Burglary
The DCSO didn't share many details about the burglary or identify the suspect, but did say in a press release,
"Thanks to their quick response, deputies were able to interrupt the crime and take the suspect into custody without further incident."
Once the suspect was arrested and in custody, the DCSO Detective Unit was called to the scene to conduct an in-depth investigation.
“This case is another example of the dedication and professionalism of the men and women of the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office who work tirelessly, day and night, to keep Dutchess safe,” said Dutchess County Sheriff Kirk Imperati.
