The good news is slowly some of the summer attractions we enjoy are coming back online but for some it is going to be a bit longer. The Painted Pony Championship Rodeo is one of those things we are going to have to wait a few more weeks to enjoy.

They shared on Facebook this afternoon that they had hope to open on July 3rd but these realize now that they will have to wait a few more weeks. They have set a new open date for July 15th and in their post they commented that they are working hard to make that happen.

I shared with you back in May that this fun summer family entertainment was planning to open in phase 4 which we all hope would be here by now.  Once they open you can enjoy the Painted Pony every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday through Labor Day. They have a 2020 Season pass available for $60. They offer a Texas Style BBQ at 6 pm each night and then the Rodeo at 8 PM rain or Shine. If you have never been to a rodeo this is a great place to learn more about this traditional American sporting event which entertains people of all ages. It makes the perfect family night.

Shawn Graham became the owner operator of the Painted Pony in 2001 according to their official website. It also mentions that he rebuilt the Longhorn Salon, covered the grandstands and has been working on the stock. They are keeping the western tradition alive in upstate New York.

Rodeo is an action pack sport comprised of a variety of events. At the Painted Pony you will get to experience everything from bull riding to team roping to barrel racing.  If you are new it will be a great introduction to rodeo and for anyone is familiar with the rodeo world you find it to be authentic and worth the trip north from the Hudson Valley.
